Viola Davis is well known for her kick ass roles in movies such as Widows and Fences and as "Annalise Keating" on How To Get Away With Murder. Now she's adding a new status to her name: film producer. Together Davis and her husband, Julius Tennon have created a production company called JuVee Productions.
According to Shadow and Act, the production company has signed a first look film deal with Amazon Studios. JuVee Productions, produces television, independent film, theater and digital content. Davis and Tennon will be responsible for creating feature films for Amazon.
Jennifer Salke an Amazon Studios executive recently said in a statement that Amazon "is passionate about building a home for both new and established filmmakers of all backgrounds, who share the same vision in telling incredible and engaging human stories."
Davis and Tennon supported Stalke's statement and followed up with "We share the same vision of creating a vast and rich array of narratives that are inclusive and reflective of our world."
Further details about the first look film deal is not available at this time.
