Taylour Paige Takes The Lead in "Zola", The Viral Twitter Story

Star of VH1's "Hit The Floor", Taylour Paige, lands lead role in the Twitter-to-film feature "Zola", a story by Twitter user Aziah "Zola" King. Aziah's twitter thread story went viral in 2015 as she recounted a road trip to Florida going south quickly when her interactions with a striper and a pimp didn't go as planned.

Production company A24, responsible for the hit horror film Hereditary and other indie films, picks up the task.

Aziah's twitter story caught the eye of many celebrities, including Ava Duvernay who tweeted,

Drama, humor, action, suspense, character development. There’s so much untapped talent in the hood.

To which Aziah responded,

I’m not from the hood tho Ava. Ima suburban bitch. Still love you tho." You can read the full thread here.

Paige was discovered by the film's director, Janicza Bravo, who loved her look and first audition. Production will begin this fall.
