Ice Cube and LL Cool J have a couple of things in common. They are influential rappers, they have created successful careers in tv and film, and now both want to buy a sports network.
Complex and TMZ report that the two stars are going to band together to become a part of a "powerful group". They hope to bid on 22 regional sports channels that the Justice Dept. is forcing Disney to sell following their $71 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
LL Cool J and Ice Cube have become apart of the group that is looking to bid on the 22 channels, which includes the New York-based YES Network. Disney has estimated the value of YES to be around $5 - $6 billion. Ice Cube and LL have teamed up with the billionaire Carolyn Rafaela which, reportedly, will give them a huge advantage.
