Horror Web Series to Spook Your October
While you may have spent your summer Netflix and Chillin', the cozy season brings a bit more scare in the air. Here are some of our picks for Black Horror indie flicks that you can get into!
Shuga Brown The Demon Hunter
This Blaxploitation-style comedic horror series stars Mika Madness, who's... well... hunting demons. Though inspired by films such as Blacula from 1972, she promises to get more gory in her work. A horrific timepiece that satisfies the current need for women filmmakers, and an ode to the past.
WAKE
WAKE is a horror short about Black vampires. It was written and directed in 2010 by Black activist Bree Newsome. Sound familiar? Yes, she was the brave Black woman who scaled the pole to remove a confederate flag from government grounds.
The BET Original web series.
