BET's ‘Boomerang’ Is Renewed For Season 2

BET has renewed the all Black cast show, ‘Boomerang’. The comedy officially aired February 12th and has generated a strong response from the audience since its debut. Data from Rotten has reported viewers have given the show a 66% rating and 3.5 stars.

The promo for the comedy communicated the mantra “There’s Not Just One Way To Be Black” : the characters uphold that message through their individual stories, values and identities. The show had time to express its originality and mute the Eddie Murphy hit movie ‘Boomerang’ comparisons which the show gets its name and premise from.

Lena Waithe and Halle Berry produce the BET comedy and have already addressed that the show is not a remake of the 90s ‘Boomerang' film, but more as a spin-off.

“Fueled by romance, friendship, gender politics, love and of course, sex.

Based on the 1992 American romantic comedy film, this new series will follow the

lives of Jacqueline Boyer's son, Bryson (Tequan Richmond) and Marcus and Angela Graham's daughter, Simone (Tetona Jackson) as they try to step out of their parents’ shadows and make a legacy of their own." The cast also includes Brittany Inge, RJ Walker, Leland B. Martin and Lala Milan, Joey BadA$$ and Dreezy.
