Consider a decision of quality over quantity. That is what the FX chief John Landgraf mentions when discussing Atlanta's season 3 delay in production. He expresses that
“We have so many programs that don’t cycle back on an annual basis,” He went on to say, “You have to make a decision about quality over quantity and we’re erring on the side of quality.”
"Atlanta" is put on pause until schedules between the cast mates, but mainly Donald Glover's, with news of the passing of his father. The show has 5 Emmy's which can be charged to Glover as the creator of the show.
The show's break hasn't been a career breaker for Glover's squad. His co-stars LaKeith Stansfield is buzzing; he just killed the movie "Sorry To Bother You" last year and he has more projects coming out soon. Tyree Henry has been popping up in huge movies like “White Boy Rick,” “Widows,” “If Beale Street Could Talk” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”.
Due to the hiatus "Atlanta" will not be able to participate in this year's cycle of the Emmy Awards.
